Pharming attacks occur by redirecting the user to a hacker website.  While the user believes he/she has entered the address of a legitimate website, the user is actually redirected to an unsafe website.

How does it work?
  • Starts with Phishing Attack
  • Hacker tampers with a companies host files
  • Redirects website traffic
  • Uses malicious computer code
  • Accesses credentials

While phishing occurs through the use of email and advertisements (affecting an individual), pharming occurs by redirecting the user to a non-legitimate and unsafe website (affecting a group of users).

Please be careful when sharing personal information over the web.
